Long-time friend Mike Newson and his wife Lynette lost their daughter, Carrie, this month in 1998.
Carrie is also survived by her sister Courtney.
Mike adapted the words from the poem, “If I Knew” written by Norma Cornett Marek. Another long-time friend, David Bray, put the words to music and recorded a CD.

Carrie was such a sweetheart. I remember the night I got the phone call that she had been killed in a car accident. My classmates from Olathe High School 1968 encouraged me to go to comfort Carrie’s dad my good friend Mike Newson. I don’t think i said anything.I just sat there with a devastated lifetime friend..My daughter was also in shock that her friend was no longer alive on this earth. Life is so precious and it can be taken away so quickly..thank God for memories,for friends,for faith. Love You Mike,Lynette,and Courtney…see you later Carrie..
