The Friends of the Olathe Public Library presented the first scholarship in memory of youth volunteer Curtis Gilmore.
Gilmore was an OPL youth volunteer that passed in 2007.
Angela Sullivan received the $500 scholarship and a certificate from Friends president Colette McGee at a reception on June 25 at the Olathe Public Library.
Sullivan is a homeschooler and has been an OPL volunteer since 2009, working a total of 228 hours. She will be attending Harding University in Searcy, Arkansas.
