At 9:36 a.m. today, Wednesday, Aug. 15, Olathe Police officers responded to the 1300 block of East 120th Street on a report of an aggravated burglary in progress.
When officers arrived, they were able to contact the homeowner who reported that he was confronted at his front door by a man armed with a handgun. The man entered the residence, at which time the homeowner and his two small children fled out the back door and ran to a nearby business to call the police. Officers set
up a perimeter and later deployed a robot inside the residence.
No one was found inside the residence.
There were no injuries reported.
The suspect is described as a white male, 6 to 6-foot-2, heavy set, with dark hair and dark rimmed glasses. He was wearing black overalls and black shoes.
This case remains under investigation by the Olathe Police Department.
