The Olathe Police Department on Sept. 21 conducted a DUI Check Lane for all traffic on west bound 135th St at Widmer.
This check lane was made possible by grant funding from the Kansas Department of Transportation, and personnel assistance from the Johnson County Sheriff’s Department and many other partner agencies, both Municipal and State, operating here in Johnson County.
Officers involved in this check lane checked 347 cars which resulted in the arrest of 4 persons for driving under the influence of alcohol, which also included 1 narcotics arrest. In addition, Officers issued 16 citations for driver’s license violations and made 1 warrant arrest.
The Olathe Police Department will continue to operate DUI check lanes and saturation patrols throughout the year as part of our ongoing traffic safety program and our affiliation with the Kansas Department of Transportation, Bureau of Traffic Safety.
