An interesting anonymous belated Christmas ‘gift’

It was sometime after this past Christmas I received an unexpected gift…of sorts.

When wife Terri opened the front door to get that day’s mail something fell at her feet. She looked down and there was a small grayish paperback book that someone had stuck between the screen door and the front door.

“What’s this?” she asked.

Terri is an expert at asking me questions for which I could absolutely never know the answers. She often calls me from her cell phone on her way home from work and in the middle of a sentence will ask, “OK, what’s this guy (another driver) doing?”

“Driving?” I’ll respond having no idea what she’s talking about.

But I digress.

“What’s what?” I responded.

“Somebody put this book in the door,” she said. “What is it? (see above)”

“I give up…what is it?” I said.

“It has something to do with newspapers,” she said while bringing the book to me. Continue reading

How to live forever!

A man was awakened Christmas Eve by a ghost of Christmases past.

“I can grant you one wish,” the ghost said.

The man, without any hesitation, answered, “I want to live forever!”

The majority of Americans will feel a tax increase of some kind in the New Year. Here is a list of the most significant and common tax increases that will hit American families starting in 2013.
Payroll / Social Security tax rises for all taxpayers; from 4.2% up to 6.2%.
