KU stunned by Baylor; shares title with K-State

Win or lose, the Kansas Jayhawks would have ended the season atop the Big 12 Conference for the ninth straight year. Beating Baylor, KU wuld have won it outright. But the Bears stunned the Jayhawks with an 81-58 thumping. KU is lucky K-State lost to Oklahoma State earlier in the day.

The losses by the two teams from Kansas meant they share the Big 12 title.

It wasn’t a good feeling for the Jayhawks.

OSU beats K-State, 76-70; pressure now on KU to win Big 12 outright…again

The No. 9 Kansas State‘s men’s basketball team’s chance for its first league title in more than 20 years possibly slipped away in the second half as Oklahoma State ralled to defeat the Wildcats, 76-70, in Gallagher-Iba Arena.

Heading into the game, K-State was tied with No. 4 Kansas University for the Big 12 crown. With the loss, K-State is now a half-game behind the Jayhawks who go against Baylor at at Baylor starting at 5 this afternoon. Kansas State let a second-half lead slip away against Oklahoma State and lost 76-70 on Saturday at Gallagher-Iba Arena.

A victory for Kansas will give the Jayhawks the outright conference championship and a loss will mean KU must share the title with K-State.

KU is the top seed in next week’s big 12 Tournament.
