North student earns perfect ACT

Ryan Dahl, a junior at Olathe North High School, has achieved a perfect 36 ACT score. Nationally, while the actual number of students earning a composite score of 36 varies from year to year, less than one-tenth of 1 percent of students taking the ACT earn a top score.

Dahl is in the 21st Century Distinguished Scholars program at Olathe North, with a focus on science. He is an Eagle Scout and a member of the Olathe North golf team, orchestra, debate and forensics. Dahl received a perfect ACT in April, on his first attempt. His parents are Russ and Angela Dahl.

Among test takers in the high school graduating class of 2012, only 781 of more than 1.66 million students earned a composite score of 36. Continue reading
