City Council

The Olathe City Council will next meet Tuesday, June 4 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber at City Hall for a regular session. OMC honored for quality stroke care

The American Heart Association/American Stroke Association recently awarded Olathe Medical Center (OMC) the Get With The Guidelines® (GWTG)-Stroke Silver Plus Quality Achievement Award.

In order to receive this recognition, OMC achieved at least 12 consecutive months of 85 percent or higher adherence to all GWTG-Stroke Quality Achievement indicators and achieved at least 75 percent or higher compliance with six of 10 GWTG-Stroke Quality Measures during that same period of time. Adherence to these standards of care has been linked to improved outcomes in stroke patients. Continue reading

County library book sale June 5-8

The Johnson County Library will hold the 2013 Annual Sizzlin’ Summer Used Book Sale in cooperation with Friends of the Library at Metcalf South Shopping Center, 9635 Metcalf, Overland Park, KS, June 5-8. It will be a great opportunity to stock up on gently used books and audiovisual materials for all ages and interests at bargain prices. Most items are priced from 50 cents to $3.00.

County reading program underway

The 2013 summer reading clubs at Johnson County Library has begun and runs through Saturday, Aug. 3. This year the new Johnson County Library’s summer reading program, sponsored by the Friends of the Library, will be for all ages, youth, teen AND adult and is unlike any other summer reading program.
