OP hotel ready to unveil renovation

The Holiday Inn Hotel and Suites Overland Park West will celebrate a complete renovation of its meeting and public space on Tuesday, Sept. 11. The hotel is premiering a multi-million dollar upgrade to its 10,000 square feet of meeting space, main lobby, fitness center, and business center. Also upgraded are 100 out of 190 sleeping rooms, adding a brand new Executive Level room type to the hotel’s inventory.

The primary enhancements to the meeting space include new carpet, wall treatments, light fixtures and air walls. The public space now includes a brand new front desk, complete with the addition of a 24 hour pantry and state of the art business center. Continue reading

115th Johnson County Old Settlers Celebration begins today

Entertainment and fun is the key for the 115th Johnson County Old Settlers three-day celebration, which begins today, Thursday, Sept. 5, and highlighting the schedule will be the nationally known country group Parmalee as well as Olathe’s own Joey Tinoco with special guest artists Tamra and Talya Tinoco.

During the three days there will be a carnival, hundreds of arts-and-crafts booths, food booths, commercial booths, carnival rides, ice cream socials and a continuous parade of local entertainment.
