Many of you kind folks have been following via social media the struggle my family and I are facing under KanCare to receive the doctor-ordered care I need to stay alive, raise my two children and be a contributing member of society.

It has not been easy.

But with a well-written letter to members of the state managed-care oversight committee, known as KanCare, perhaps together we can rattle some cages and make a difference — not just for me, but for the remaining 379,999 other Kansas who face a reduction in caregiver hours. Continue reading

Microchip and Low Cost Rabies Vaccination Clinic

On Saturday Nov. 2, the city of Olathe will offer its microchip and low cost rabies clinic for Olathe residents. The event will run from 8 a.m. to noon at the Olathe Animal Shelter, 505 East Sunvale Drive in Olathe.Residents will be able to obtain rabies vaccinations and purchase/renew Olathe animal license’s at the same time.

Microchips will be $25 and rabies shots are $10 for a one-year vaccination.

Additional immunizations such as Distemper, Bordetella, etc. will be available as well at a reduced rate. With your current rabies vaccination you also will be able to license your pet with the city.

49-plane flyover

For those who missed it, or might have never heard about it, there was a 49-plane flyover Arrowhead Stadium last weekend at the end of the National Anthem prior to the start of the Chiefs-Raiders game. It’s impressive to watch.
