Fort Leavenworth National Cemetary
For the fourth year I am participating in the Wreaths Across America Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery event. The date is Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. location is the base of the American flag pole located in the middle of the cemetery.
Again, I am asking for help in raising awareness of the service of our fallen heroes, our active duty military and our military veterans at the event and funds to help sponsor wreaths to place on our deceased veterans graves. The section of the cemetery we have chosen this year is section “M”. There are approx. 3,800 graves in this section alone. We have over 20,000 in the cemetery and had 1,072 sponsored last year.
The sponsorship group I am part of is MOKAN Gold Star Families (KSGSF001). We are a three for two group which means for every two sponsored we receive a third one for free. Fort Leavenworth National Cemetery location number is: KSFLNC
You can also visit the website at www.wreathsacrossamerica.org and find our location to make a donation. Please ensure you are going to Ft. Leavenworth page and selecting MOKAN Gold Star families so we can assure your sponsorship will be placed as you chose
The event is open to the public. If you’d like to sponsor a wreath please mail a check to our sponsorship group leader, Betty Wright @ 7312 Bond St. Shawnee, KS 66203.
I am location coordinator, so if you have any questions regarding the event at Ft. Leavenworth National Cemetery please email me or call me at (913) 773-8683.
Respectfully,
Diana Pitts
