Cooper charged in Edgerton murder

Gregory B. David Cooper has been charged with second degree murder in the death of Tyler Matthew Knudsen during an altercation that took place at the Boxcar Bar & Grill on Saturday, Dec. 19.  The bond in the case has been set at $250,000 with his next court appearance scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 30 at 11:30 a.m.

Any further inquiries can be directed to the Johnson County Kansas District Attorney’s Office.

At approximately 9:45 p.m. on Saturday Johnson County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a physical disturbance at the Boxcar Bar & Grill, 100 E 2nd Street, in Edgerton where they found Knudsen’s body.

This is an ongoing investigation by the Johnson County Sheriff’s Office.  There was a suspect taken into custody at the scene with charges pending.
