This is a great way for parents to make sure their children are buckled up right.
Statistics show of those kids who are buckled up, three out of four are not restrained properly or sit in a seat that is incorrectly installed. Child car seats are extremely effective when correctly used and installed, reducing the risk of death by 71 percent for infants and 54 percent for toddlers.
Safe Kids Johnson County, Leawood Police Department, Pilot Club of Shawnee Mission, Children’s Mercy Hospital and Clinics and McCarthy Chevrolet are co-sponsoring these lifesaving safety checks.
