The Olathe High School Class of 1968 had its 45th reunion Oct. 4-5. On Saturday night, The Reunion Band, comprised of Mary Jane (O’Brien) Norman, David Bray, Carl Hanson, Steve Spencer, Mike Newson, Jim Harrelson, Bud Janes, Chuck Kurtz, and Doug Perrin (Class of ’65), played two one-hour sets of music at the St. Andrew’s Golf Course Clubhouse in Overland Park.
The songs they played were: You Can’t Sit Down; Little Latin Lupe Lu; Monkey Time; Wooly Bully; Then He Kissed Me; Good Lovin’; Midnight Hour; I’m Crying; On Broadway; Not Too Long Ago; Shot Gun; Summertime; Stand By Me; Louie Louie; Tequila; Gloria; My Girl; Money; Heat Wave; House of the Rising Sun; Bonie Maronie; Hang On Sloopy; Turn On Your Love Light; Time Won’t Let Me; For Your Love; High Heel Sneakers; Glad All Over; Unchained Melody; Mony Mony; Twist and Shout; and Wipeout.
The band played great and everyone danced and had a great time. Unfortunately, the camera malfunctioned and only a select few of the songs performed were recorded. Here they are. (If anyone recorded other songs, please email them to firstname.lastname@example.org and I’ll post them on the website, too. Thanks)
