George Herman Stahl, 75, of Spring Hill, passed away April 25, 2015 at Olathe Hospice House.

Memorial Mass will be 10:00 am Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, Gardner. Inurnment will follow at Saint Columbia Catholic Cemetery, Gardner. Visitation will be from 6 – 8:00 pm Friday, May 1, 2015 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner with a Rosary said at 8:00 pm. Memorial Contributions may be given to Divine Mercy Catholic Church.

Herman was born on August 15, 1939 in Osawatomie, KS to Alice Marie (Judd) and Joseph Herman Stahl. He was a graduate from Queen of Holy Rosary School in Wea. Herman served in the US Navy. Herman married Marilyn K. Champion on June 11, 1964 in Wea. He owned and operated Stahl Excavating Co from 1970 – 2001. Herman also owned and operated Stahl Farms and he enjoyed restoring antique John Deer Tractors. He was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church and the Operating and Hoisting Engineers Local #101. He enjoyed 4 wheeling in the Arizona Desert and going fishing. Family was very important to Herman, from growing up in a family of 11 children to having 11 grandchildren of his own. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Robert and Leonard and grandson Jake. Herman is survived by his wife Marilyn; children Bruce K. Stahl and Kelley, Becky E. King and Todd, all of Spring Hill and Brent A. Stahl and Jackie of Gardner; siblings: Deloris Aiken (Cy), Bessie Stevens (Gene) all of Louisburg, KS, Margaret Beets (Roger) of Shawnee, KS, Mary Pretz (Jerry) of Paola, KS, James Stahl (Coleen) of Centerville, KS, John Stahl of Parker, KS, Vickie Gillespie (Don) of Lebo, KS, and Jeanette Sliter-Heath (Brad) of Hartford, KS; and 11 grandchildren.
