Jo Lea Large, 59, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, March 18, 2016.
A Celebration of her life will be held at 1pm, Saturday, April 2nd, at McGilley & Frye Funeral Home, 105 E. Loula St, Olathe, Kansas. Visitation will be from 12-1pm prior to the service. Jo was born February 16, 1957 in Olathe, Kansas to Russell and Betty Lucille (Dunmire) Plummer. After attending Baker University she went to work in the telephone industry. She worked for over 30 years for what is now known as CenturyLink as a Surveillance Technician. Jo was most known for her love of cooking, baking and recipe collecting. She enjoyed all styles of music from James Taylor to Eminen. Jo enjoyed traveling, from a weekend trip to Truman Lake or the annual Girls Trips, where she was always sure to pick up some t-shirts for her boys. Her people loving joking ways will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ms. Large was preceded in death by her father, Russell Plummer.
She is survived by her two sons, Aaron (Megan) Large of Olathe, Kansas and Brandon Large of Kansas City, Kansas; mother, Lucy Plummer of Overland Park, Kansas. Also left to cherish her memory is her sister, Kathy Granger of Overland Park, Kansa, her grandson Charlie, granddaughter, Lilly and her long time friend Rory Martynowski.
