1948-2015
Judy K. Keltner, 67, of Olathe, KS passed away at home surrounded by her family on Friday, August 7, 2015. She will forever be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone she met.

Judy was born on May 22, 1948 in Maquoketa, IA to Alvin and Charlene (Bailey) Petersen. Growing up on the family farm gave her many memories to share with her family and grandchildren. Judy attended and graduated from Maquoketa High School, and after graduation, she attended St. Luke’s School of Nursing in Davenport, IA where she earned her nursing degree. Judy dedicated herself to her patients at North Kansas City Memorial Hospital before she retired after 36 years of service. She enjoyed the many things nature had to offer along with being outdoors, spending time with her family and most of all, the time she spent with her grandchildren.

Judy is preceded in death by her father Alvin Petersen. Survivors include her husband of 32 years Kenny D. Keltner of the home, mother Charlene Petersen of Maquoketa, IA, son Jeremy K. Simmons and his wife Jenny of Goddard, KS, daughter Kara L. Kraxberger and her husband Adam of Portland, OR, two brothers, Gary Petersen and his wife Joan and Wayne Petersen and his wife Pat all of Maquoketa, IA. Left behind to cherish her memory are her four grandchildren: Colby Kraxberger, Abby Simmons, Rachel Simmons and Kaden Kraxberger. Judy is also survived by her sister-in law Sherry Keltner of Lenexa, KS. She will be sadly missed by everyone she knew.

Judy will be cremated according to her wishes. A Memorial gathering is scheduled for 2:00-4:30 p.m. Saturday, August 15th at the McGilley & Frye Funeral Home 105 East Loula St. Olathe, KS. A Memorial service is planned for 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 17th at Carson Celebration of Life Center 318 West Pleasant St. Maquoketa, IA. Inurnment in Evergreen Cemetery Delmar, IA.
