Loretta Louise Nellor, 81, passed away May 7, 2015 at Olathe Hospice House.

Funeral Service will be 10:30 am Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, 913-856-7111. Burial will follow at Gardner Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 12, 2015 also at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be given to the Hospice House at Olathe Medical Center or the American Lung Association.

Loretta was born June 2, 1933 in Spring Hill, KS to Marjorie L. (Dunn) and Albert P. Meyer. She was a 1950 graduate of Spring Hill High School. Loretta married Kimball H. Nellor on August 24, 1955 in Spring Hill. She was a Farmer’s wife and co-owned the farm with her sons Dick and Russ. She worked at the ASCS in Olathe. Loretta was a member of the Johnson County Fair Board and worked in the board office. She was also a member of the Dairy Farmers of America and the Farm Bureau. She enjoyed working, cooking, and crocheting. Loretta loved spoiling her grandkids. She will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kimball in 1999, and brother John Meyer. Loretta is survived by her children: Richard “Dick” Nellor and Sally, Gardner, Kenneth “Kook” Nellor and Sandy, Spring Hill, Russ Nellor and Linda, Gardner, Mary Nelson and Greg, Spring Hill, and Carol Nellor, Gardner; 10 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and brother James Meyer.

  1. What a lady! Loretta always had a kind word and a beautiful smile. She loved her family and working on the farm. Her word was golden. You never tried to tell her what to do because she would tell YOU what to do! My love to you all.
