Marvin G. Allen, 83, of Olathe, KS passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 28, 2015.

Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, July 31, 2015 at Bruce Funeral Home, 712 S. Webster, Spring Hill, KS (913) 592- 2244. Funeral Services will be 1:30 pm Saturday, August 1, 2015 in the Main Sanctuary at College Church of the Nazarene, 2020 Sheridan Street, Olathe, KS. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Olathe, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Pathway to Hope, Olathe, KS.

Marvin was born April 6, 1932 on a farm in Miami County near Paola, KS to Eugene and Adeline Hinkle Allen. Marvin graduated from Olathe High School in 1950. He attended Kansas State Univ. for a year and returned home to start his own farming operation. He married Marie C. Jensen on June 21, 1952. Marvin owned and operated Marvin G. Allen Builders, Inc. constructing commercial buildings, offices, churches and schools. He also founded the Olathe State Bank and served as chairman of the board.

Marvin is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Marie of the home; children: Annette Thurlow and Bill of Bedford, TX, Marvin Allen, Jr. and Cindy of Baldwin, KS, Karin Brownlee and Doug of Olathe, KS, Tina Allen of Olathe, KS, Debbie Kling and Jim, of Nampa, ID, and B. Doug Allen and Beth of Olathe, KS; 17 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Dale Allen and Beth of Wichita, KS; sisters: Christine Chalendar, Manhattan, KS and Lois Park and Gil, Manhattan, KS.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Earl, Ghormley and Floyd and infant sister, Joyce.
