William “Bill” Henry Harralson, 79, of De Soto, KS and formerly of Olathe, KS, passed away Jan. 11, 2016 at Olathe Medical Center.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 am Tues., Jan. 19, 2016 at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 555 W. Main, Gardner, KS (913) 856-7111. Burial follows at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Olathe, KS. Rosary 5:30 pm Mon., Jan. 18, 2016 with visitation following from 6:00 to 8:30 pm at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS (913) 856-7111. Memorial contributions may be made to Bruce Funeral Home in Bill Harralson’s name.

Bill was born July 17, 1936 in Kansas City, KS to William Henry and Marguerite F. (Moran) Harralson. He grew up in Edgerton and was a lifelong resident of Johnson County. Bill graduated from Edgerton High School in 1955. He married Mary Catherine Gillespie on Jan. 14, 1956 in Edgerton, KS. Bill was a shipping and packaging supervisor at Bendix Corp. in Kansas City, MO from 1958-1991 where he served as a Machinist Aerospace Union Steward for 25 years. After retirement he worked at local hardware stores. He was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Gardner. He was president of St. Paul’s and Westview Elementary PTO and active in CYO, Catholic Youth Organization. Bill was a commissioner and charter member of Olathe Youth Baseball. He was an avid sports fan of the Royals, Chiefs and KU. Bill loved his grandchildren and enjoyed watching their activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant daughter, Susan Carol. Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mary Catherine, of the home; daughter, Cathy Bowers and husband Bill, Olathe, KS; sons, Bill and wife Toni Harralson, Gardner, KS, Jim Harralson and significant other Paul Lane, Columbia, MO, Tim and wife Lori Harralson, Orrick, MO, Dave and wife Kylee Harralson, Gardner, KS; fourteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and brother, Bob Harralson, De Soto, KS.
