Wine tasting at the Overland Park Arboretum

Friends of the Arboretum is sponsoring Wine Tasting on the Terrace from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.,  Thursday, April 18, at the Overland Park Arboretum.

Wines will be provided by The Wine Barn, a local winery located near The Legends in Kansas City, Kan.

Cost is $20 per person.

Wines that will be offered are:

Apple Pear: A fruity, sweet wine similar to a Pinot Grigio. Great for BBQ’s.
The Bee’s Knees: A semi-sweet blend of two white grapes. Pairs well with fish, chicken and spicy dishes.
3 Sisters: A deep garnet color blend of three sweet grapes. Pairs well with chicken and spicy dishes.
Double Play: A medium-bodied blend of Norton and St. Vincent grapes. Produced in American Oak barrels.
Norton: A full-bodied wine aged in French Oak. Compare to a Syrah or Merlot.

Appetizers of fruit, cheese and dessert trays will be provided during the tastings. The wines listed also will be available for purchase by the bottle to take home.
