The event’s stars were the 10 local brain tumor survivors who led the ride: Cameron, Carter, Noah, J.T, Jake, Isabella, Dorene, Anna, Xander and Ben.

“It makes me so happy being a survivor at the Ride for Kids and I want that for other kids,”  Carter said. “I want them to have a chance to do Ride for Kids, too.”

As of ride time, the individual, motorcycle club/chapter and motorcycle business with the most raised were Jennifer Burroughs ($4,150), American Legion Riders ($6,948) and Hub Cycle ($4,102). The top non-motorcycle organization was KC Parrothead Club ($2,061).

The event is still collecting donations online at www.rideforkids.org. Fundraisers will receive incentive credit through Aug. 28.
