Shelter vaccinates 125 animals

On Saturday Nov. 2, the Olathe Animal Shelter held its 3rd Annual Rabies Vaccination Clinic for 2013.

This event provided Olathe pet owners the opportunity to receive vaccinations, pet licenses and microchips.

A total of 125 animals were vaccinated and 102 pet licenses were issued.

The Olathe Animal Shelter would like to remind the public that city of Olathe ordinance requires all domestic pets to be licensed. Olathe Animal Shelter open house Feb. 7

The Olathe Animal Shelter will host an open house from noon to 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 7. The public is invited to view the new surgery center and to provide citizens an opportunity to meet new veterinarian, Dr. Amber Andrews.

The opening of the surgery center will allow personnel to spay/neuter shelter animals on site, as well as provide enhanced medical treatment and vaccinations for adopted pets. Dr. Andrews will also be providing veterinary care for the police and fire K-9’s.
