Garmin race set for April 18

There’s going to be more than 4,000 runners hitting the streets of Olathe on Saturday, April 18 for the 2015 Garmin Marathon. Check out the map below to see which of the various participants will be in your neck of the woods. Feel free cheer them on. The event is sponsored by Garmin and the Olathe Chamber of Commerce.

Justice Center open for business

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held today for the new Johnson County "Justice Annex" building in downtown Olathe (former Dillon's grocery store). The new building, located at 588 E. Santa Fe, houses three county operations -- the Tenth Judicial District's Office of Court Trustee and Court Services along with administration personnel and the Civil Division of the Johnson County Sheriff's Office.

Travel, tourism focus of Olathe Chamber’s Business Lunch Series

The Olathe Chamber of Commerce will present the second event in its 2013 Business Lunch Series, “Travel & Tourism,” Friday, May 10. The luncheon will be from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Olathe’s newest hotel, the Hilton Garden Inn, 12080 S. Strang Line Rd., and will feature a panel discussion focused on some of the efforts underway throughout Olathe and the KC metro aimed at attracting visitors and enhancing tourism.

This luncheon is being held in conjunction with National Travel and Tourism week.

Panelists will discuss two topics of interest in our region right now pertaining to travel and tourism – air transportation and a new full‐service hotel. Continue reading

Leadership Olathe graduation dinner May 16

Kansas Leadership Center President and CEO Ed O’Malley will be the featured speaker at the 2013 Leadership Olathe Graduation Dinner May 16 at the Ball Conference Center, 2135 W. 153rd Street, west of the Olathe Medical Center.

The event begins at 6 p.m. and is open to graduates, their families and friends, Leadership Olathe alumni and members of the Olathe Chamber of Commerce.
