The Olathe Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the male and female shown in regards to an identity theft. The two suspects allegedly used the credit card number of the victim to make several purchases in Johnson County totaling approximately $1000 dollars. Also shown is the suspect vehicle which appears to be a maroon colored four-door SUV pulling a wooden trailer.

Drug Take-Back in Olathe Sept. 26

On Saturday Sept. 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Olathe Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give the public an opportunity to take their expired, unneeded, or unwanted prescription drugs to the collection site at Olathe City Hall, 100 East Santa Fe.

The National Prescription Drug Take-Back addresses a vital public safety and public health issue. Many Americans are not aware that medicines that languish in home cabinets are highly susceptible to diversion, misuse, and abuse. Rates of prescription drug abuse in the U.S. are at alarming rates, as are the number of accidental poisonings and overdoses due to these drugs. Continue reading

Olathe PD looking for ID theft suspect

The male suspect attempted to gain entry to the front of an ATM. There was no loss. Also shown is the suspect vehicle which appears to be an older white four-door passenger car.

Olathe stabbing victim in serious condition

Olathe police officers were dispatched to the 500 block of south Sunset Drive about 4:17 Friday morning, July 17, on a reported disturbance between two males and found a 20-year-old male victim with a stab wound to his side.

The victim, who was not identified, was transported to an area hospital where he remains in serious but stable condition. A 29-year-old male suspect was taken into custody at the scene.

Olathe police seek help identifying suspect

wal mart suspectThe Olathe Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the male shown in regards to a sexual battery. The male allegedly touched the female victim inappropriately while inside an Olathe Wal-Mart on July 1.

Also shown is the suspect vehicle which appears to be a dark colored Nissan four-door with a front license plate.

Increased awareness during Click It or Ticket campaign

Beginning on Monday, May 18, and continuing through Sunday, May 31, drivers can expect increased police presence on Olathe’s streets as the Olathe Police Department joins more than 150 other law enforcement agencies in enforcing Kansas occupant restraint and other traffic laws as part of the 2015 Kansas Click It or Ticket traffic enforcement campaign.

This activity is supported by agency grants from the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT).

Drivers can expect enforcement of the Safety Belt Use Act and the Child Passenger Safety Act. These acts require that all vehicle occupants be appropriately restrained. Continue reading
