Olathean, 18, shot; 17-year-old being questioned

On January 15, 2015, at approximately 1215 hrs, Olathe police at about 12:15 today, Jan. 15, were dispatched to an aggravated battery and shooting in the 12300 block of south Parker Terrace. Officers found an 18-year-old Olathe resident suffering from a gunshot wound.

At this time the exact shooting location is still under investigation.

A 17-year-old Olathe resident has been taken into custody and is being questioned as a person of interest.

The victim was transported to an area hospital and where he underwent surgery. The extent of his injuries was not released.

Olathe accidental shooting not life threatening

At approximately 10:15 p.m. on June 6, Olathe Police officers were dispatched to a reported accidental shooting inside a residence in the 1400 block of E. 124th St.

When officers arrived they found an adult female who had suffered a single gunshot wound that was not life threatening. The adult female was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was later released.

Several other subjects were inside the residence at the time of the shooting.  The investigation is active.
